From Anton Mari H. Lim: When Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation was just starting, one of the very first person I presented to was Mr. Chito Sobrepeña of Metrobank Foundation. He was introduced to me by Metrobanker and Hope Paddler Bambi Fernandez-Cbp. At that time, we had too much on our plates, because we bit-off more than we could chew! Requests and needs from coastal communities needing Yellow School Boats piled in my desks. Then Typhoon Pablo and Typhoon Yolanda came, then we became more than about yellow school boats – we started adopting fishermen who lost their boats, building classrooms, schools, dormitories, ALS bangkarunungans and now we are into ecotourism and village economies, all to ensure kids get to go, stay and finish school. Every step of the way, one foundation stood by us, believed in us, funded us, inspired us, mentored us and watched us grow. That foundation was Metrobank Foundation Inc.

GeorgeSKTyWith the passing of its heart and soul, Dr. George S.K. Ty this year, this award is doubly meaningful for us, because now he will be watching over us 24/7, the foundation is celebrating its 40th year and we were chosen as one of its P.E.A.C.E. awards recipients, joining an illustrious list of changemakers!

Thank you Metrobank sa inyong PUSO at SIGASIG! Mabuhay po kayo and on behalf of our selfless, loving and passionate hope paddlers maraming salamat po! HopeSails!
