Yellow School of Hope
Through the yellow school boat initiative, we want to make sure that all Filipino children have safe access to schools. This initiative ignited an increasing interest among children to go to school, which then resulted in an influx of students. To address the sudden influx of students from the Yellow Boat communities, we build school buildings so that learning can happen in a conducive way and that the children are encouraged to go, stay in, and finish school.
In cooperation with the Department of Education, we build extension and/or standalone schools that can accommodate elementary school students. With an educational institution closer to where children are, we are encouraging them to go to school and finish their studies. Through the Yellow School of Hope project, we see better participation among children resulting from better quality of education, and actual classrooms that make learning more conducive and inspiring.
